Suriya officially became part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) in 2022, which has been created by director-writer Lokesh Kanagaraj. Appearing as one of the antagonists Rolex at the end of Vikram was Suriya, who was being chased by Kamal Haasan’s titular character. While there is enough chatter on where the LCU is headed and what’s next, Suriya has hinted at a major development on the cards.

The Newsmakers

The LCU is ever-expanding. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj started off the LCU with Kaithi (2019). The film featured Arjun Das and Karthi, after which the director released Vikram (2022). Following its success, the director is now gearing up for Leo (2023) starring Thalapathy Vijay.

There are even reports that Leo is going to be a part of the LCU. The last scene of Vikramfeatured both Kamal Haasan and Suriya’s characters.

Many thought that the next LCU film will be focusing more on Rolex, given how he was hinted throughout the 2022 film. However, another film after Leo may focus entirely on Suriya’s character.
