Gilchrist

Four individuals have been arrested and charged with robbing a man at the Old Lock One Park in Salitpa early Monday morning.

Tristin Gilchrist, Amanda Wade and two juveniles were arrested later in the day Monday. They are all from the area.

The victim was sitting in his Jeep at the Old Lock about 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up. He talked to one individual and did not immediately realize there were three others. They talked for a while and then the victim said he felt something against his back.

He was robbed of a Rolex watch, a tennis bracelet and a diamond cluster ring. The items had an estimated value of $30,000.

The victim was not hurt in the robbery. He was not named but is said to be from the area but living out of state now.

Clarke County Sheriff’s deputies investigated and later in the day the four suspects were arrested, some of them taken into custody in Jackson. Jackson Police assisted in the arrests.

Gilchrist and Wade were jailed but have been released on bond. No information was available on the juveniles. The investigation is continuing.

A traffic stop on College Avenue in front of NAPA Auto Parts Monday resulted in the arrest of suspects believed to be involved in a robbery early that morning at the Old Lock One Park in Salitpa.
